Bronx Charter School for the Arts understands that sending a Chromebook, or iPad, home may present additional technical challenges for students and parents. The technology department will provide limited remote support using a help desk request form as well as live zoom “office hours” to troubleshoot your challenges. Bronx Charter School for the Arts will attempt to provide “best effort” support.

Please report any damage or lost devices to your child’s teacher as soon as possible.

Tech support is here to help resolve your issues as they arise. However, here are a few tips to solve regular issues that occur commonly:

  • Restart the iPad by holding down the power and home buttons until you see the apple.
  • Turn wifi on and off.
  • Shut down the app by double clicking the home button and swiping up to close it.

Technical Support Office Hours

Our team will be available Monday – Friday between the hours of 11:00am and 1:00pm. You will enter a waiting room and be queued according to the order you join for support. You will be kept appraised of the current wait time every 5 minutes during the time you are in the waiting room. Our ability to support technology at home may vary depending on many factors such as:
  • The number of people waiting for assistance from Technology Desktop Support Staff
  • Requestor’s technology knowledge and experience, including their understanding and access to their home network
Bronx Charter School for the Arts staff will provide remote assistance and support. Our tech support team is not available to go offsite to address technology issues. Advice given by our Technology Support members should be followed at your own risk.  Bronx Charter School for the Arts will not take responsibility for the correct operation, maintenance or support of personal networks, personal devices, or school issued devices.
Questions concerning the use of applications and resources assigned by teachers should be directed back to the teacher or staff member who assigned the work.

We understand that issues arise at all times of the day. If you are in need of technical support outside of our Technical Support Office Hours, please submit an email with the following information:

  • Your name
  • The best phone number to reach you.
  • Your child’s name.
  • Your child’s grade.
  • A detailed description of what you need assistance with.
